LADIES’ AND GENTLEMEN’S SINGLES  CUP COMPETITIONS

The Ladies’ and Gentlemen’s Singles Cup competitions took place on Sunday, 13 July, 2025, and despite the worries of the excessive heat we’ve been experiencing recently spoiling the day, Mother Nature decided to reign in the heat and provide us with a lovely day.

Twelve gents and eleven ladies threw their hats into the arena for a chance of winning their respective competitions.

In the ladies’ competition the preliminary rounds gave us semi finalists Sarah Graves and Audrey Parry and Alison Barlow and Jane Cooper, but it was Audrey and Alison who made it through to the final, and ultimately Audrey who took the title this year 21:19 in a very well  contended final.

In the gents’ competition the preliminary rounds gave us semi-finalists Ciaran Guilfoyle and Phill Barlow and Andy Wilson and Duncan Clarke but it was Ciaran and Andy who made it through to the final, and ultimately Ciaran who took the title this year in a closely fought match 21:20.

The winners were awarded their respective trophies.

As always Leah Hall did an amazing job organising the day’s refreshments and, Ian Gutteridge, donning his trade mark apron, did an amazing job on the barbecue.  A huge thanks to everyone involved in organising the day.
