OPEN DAY, 27 APRIL, 2025

 

Our Open Day this year took place at the Club on Sunday, 27, April.  Again, the weather was very kind to us and provided us with lots of sunshine.  The day was well supported by many club members and visitors.

 

The Club, aided by many members volunteering their time and energy, (you know who you are) put on a variety of games and stalls including Name the Teddy (Darcy), which was won by Fred Reynolds, Spin the Wheel for a sweet prize every time, a fabulously well stocked cake stall, gift stall, tombola and raffle.  Thank you to everyone who provided cakes, gifts and prizes, such generous donations are very much appreciated.

 

There were three fun bowl games set up on the Nottingham Green including Snooker Bowls, “Bowl Shy” and “Target Bowls”, and the opportunity for visitors to have a go at bowling on the Derby Green.

 

There was of course the usual fabulous catering including BBQ and filled rolls.  A special mention and thank you goes out to Ian Gutteridge who manned the BBQ all afternoon turning out  the best burgers and hotdogs.

 

All in all a great day had by all whilst making some moneys to help with the running costs of the club and welcoming some new members.

 

Don’t forget that Monday evenings from 6 pm (excluding Bank Holidays) is social bowling night, all welcome come and have a go.

Our next competition is The Critchlow Cup on Sunday, 18 May.  This competition is open to all members who haven’t won a trophy in any previous competition or league (excluding the Reg Wright Trophies) so come along and have a go – it could be your trophy moment!
